A key feature of the Bučovice book is that for many individuals it lists, on the right side of the entry, the date of what amounted to "marriage approval", along with the name of the newly-named Familiant's intended bride. It is turning out that those "approval" dates precede actual marriage dates (as seen in Czech Jewish Registers, Marriage volumes) by a matter of weeks. Many of the brides' names given in the Familiant book are very hard to read, but they are followed by the woman's town of origin, which can be helpful for genealogists.
Also of interest to genealogists, in Bučovice's list (but not in all towns' lists), the entry for a new Familianten gives his father's name, and often states whether the man was a 1st-, 2nd- or even 3rd-born son of that father. See http://www.badatelna.eu/reprodukce/?fondId=2098&zaznamId=114391... for an example.
Debra, Thank you! I have re-reviewed the main page of interest to me (http://www.badatelna.eu/reprodukce/?fondId=2098&zaznamId=114391...) and now do find it more informative! (And some is quite had to read.)
I don't want to clutter the discussion line if this question is not appropriate for this forum (do let me know), but I would be interested in comment on the note from this page (42) of the Butschowitz Familienten Buch: http://www.badatelna.eu/reprodukce/?fondId=2098&zaznamId=114391.... It looks like Samuel (ben David (?)) FISCHHOF was married to a [something] of Loebl BLUEHDORN, but I cannot make out any of the handwritten words in the marriage note, other than "Loebl BLUEHDORN". Maybe she was the widow of Loebl?
A couple years ago, I corresponded with Randy and others about Joseph FISCHHOFF of Butschowitz who was married to Rosa BLUEHDORN, and then (in my opinion) to a different woman named Rosa FRIEDLAENDER, my ggg gm's sister.
Now seeing another FISCHHOF with a BLUEHDORN connection, I am curious about the interconnections.
