Males carrying R-M173 in modern populations appear to comprise two subclades: R1a and R1b, which are found mainly in populations native to Eurasia (except East and Southeast Asia). R-M173 contains the majority of representatives of haplogroup R in the form of its subclades, R1a and R1b (Rosser 2000, Semino 2000, and Genographic 2011).
R1a mainly in Western Europe and R1b in the Slavic countries.

Haplo group R1b dominating populations in my 3 countries of origin:
Germany: 45% R1b (Germanic, Italo Celtic, Armenian) 16% R1a (Balto Slavic, Germanic, Indo Iranian) 16% I 1 (Pre Germanic Nordic)
Netherlands:49% R1b(Germanic, Italo Celtic, Armenian) 16,5% I1 (Pre Germanic Nordic) 6,5% 12b (Pre Celto Germanic) 4,5% G (Greco Anatolian, Caucasian)
France: 58.5% R1b (Germanic, Italo Celtic, Armenian) 8.5% I1 (Pre Germanic Nordic) 7.5% E1b1b (Near Eastern, Balkanic, North African)
