Lydia Cooke was baptized on 27 April 1679 in Stonington, New London, Connecticut Colony.[1] She was the daughter of Richard and Grace (Unknown) Cooke. The Mayflower Families v.15 p.54 agrees that she was a daughter of Richard Cooke, but cautions that this was Not a Mayflower Cooke line.[2]

Erica Howton I think that Lydia Cook is a Mayflower descendant, but I don't think she was Lydia Leonard. The Leonards do go back to the Mayflower though, via Solomon's wife, Sarah, a daughter of Roger Chandler and Isabella Chilton.

Oh my goodness, this is the “young Samuel Lennardson” who helped Hannah Dustin turn the tables on her Indian captors. She was taken in the raid on Haverhill.

Thanks Erica Howton that clears up a lot. Seems there were several Samuel Leonards over the generations, and more than one married a Lydia. And people think the Welsh lines are tricky?

And don’t even get started on the Lydia’s.

But this Samuel was a celebrity … and then, lost to history.

Erica Howton I did come across his story while researching my colonial family. He is my 8th ggf.
