Hello Sławomir! This person is the same person as Hryhoriy (Harry) Lashyn who died in Saskatchewan in 1995. He is my grandfather's half-brother. Until relatively recently I didn't know his date of birth, but a grandson of him said it was April 6 1899 - although on his gravestone it states he was born in 1900. It is entirely possible that Harry himself never knew his date of birth. When he immigrated to Canada in 1925, he is listed as being 27 years old. On the 1931 Canadian Census he is listed as being 30 years old. In a 1965 newspaper article, he is described as being 67 years old.

Harry helped my grandfather, Sam, immigrate to Canada in 1938. My grandfather lived on the farm that Harry rented for a while.

I honestly don't remember ever meeting him, although he did come to my grandparents 50th wedding anniversary in 1990 in Vancouver. My mother remembers him as having a less robust physique than my grandfather and with less of a thick accent which my grandfather had.
