1853 - 1878 H.M. Athet-u-san-paing-than-ashin Sri Pawara Vijaya Nandaratta Pandita Maha Dharma Rajadhiraja Mindon Min Thaya Gyi, King of Burma. b. at Amarapura, 8th July 1808, as Maung Lwin, educ. Maha Zawtika Yama Hteik Ratna Bonsan Kyaung, Amarapura. Raised to the rank of Min Ye Jaya 1828. Granted Meenloung in fief 1837. Granted the title of Sri Suriya Maha Dharmaraja 1840, and prom. to Sri Maha Sriha Suriya Dharmaraja 27th February 1847. Granted the personal rank and title of King, 21st December 1846. Fled from Amarapura to Moutchobo, 17th December 1852. Proclaimed King at Moutchobo, 18th December 1752. Returned to Amarapura with a large army, surrounded the city, was allowed in by the Magwe Wungyi and dethrone King Pagan, 17th February 1853. Succeeded on the forced abdication of his elder brother, 18th February 1853. Ascended the throne at Amarapura, and assumed the reign name of Sri Suriya Dharma Pawara Maha Dharma Rajadhiraja, 6th July 1854. Founded the new city of Ratnapura, 13th January 1857, thereafter styled The present Founder of the City of Ratnapura (Mandalay), Builder of the Royal Palace, Ruler of the Sea and Land, Lord of the Celestial Elephant and Master of many White Elephants, Owner of the Sekyah or Indra's Weapon, Lord of the Power of Life and Death and Great Prince of Righteousnes, King of the Rising Sun who reigns over Burma. Crowned at Ratnapura for a second time, assuming the new reign name of Sri Pawara Vijaya Nandaratta Pandita Maha Dharma Rajadhiraja [Thiri Pawara Wizara Nanda Yatha Pandita Maha Dhammarazadiraza] 14th May 1857. Transferred his capital from Amarapura to Ratnapura, 29th June 1857.

He d. from dysentery, after an illness lasting two months, at the Golden Palace, Ratnapura, 1st October 1878, having had issue, 110 children.

မင္းတုန္းမင္းတရားႀကီး (၁၈၅၃-၁၈၇၈) သည္ ျမန္မာႏိုင္ငံႏွင့္ ကုန္းေဘာင္မင္းဆက္၏ ဒုတိယ ေနာက္ဆံုး ဘုရင္ျဖစ္ၿပီး နန္းတက္ဘြဲ႔မွာ သိရီပ၀ရ ၀ိဇယာနႏၱ ယသပ႑ိတ ႀတိဘာ၀နာဓိတ်ာဓိပတိ မဟာဓမၼ ရာဇာဓိရာဇာ ျဖစ္သည္။ ၁၂၁၄-ခုႏွစ္ နန္းတက္ေတာ္မူ၍ နန္းစည္းစိမ္၂၆-ႏွစ္၊ အိမ္နိမ့္စံ ၃၈-ႏွစ္၊ သက္ေတာ္ ၆၄-ႏွစ္၌ နတ္ရြာစံသည္။

၁၈၀၈ ခုႏွစ္ ၊ ဇူလိုင္လ (၈) ရက္ေန႔တြင္ အမရပူရ၌ ေမြးဖြားခဲ့သည္။ နံေတာ္ အဂၤါသား၊ ငယ္မည္မွာ ေမာင္လြင္ျဖစ္သည္။

ေနာင္ေတာ္ ပုဂံမင္း နန္းတက္လာၿပီး ေနာက္တြင္ မင္းတုန္းႏွင့္ ကေနာင္မင္းသား ႏွစ္ပါးကို လႊတ္တက္ မင္းသားႀကီးမ်ား အျဖစ္ ထားခဲ့သည္။ သို႔ေသာ္ ပုဂံမင္း၏ ေယာက္ဖေတာ္ ဦးပြားႏွင့္ အေပါင္းအပါမ်ားက လုပ္ၾကံရန္ ၾကံစည္သည့္ အတြက္ ညီေတာ္ ကေနာင္မင္းသားႏွင့္ အတူ ေရႊဘိုသို႔သြားကာ ေနာင္ေတာ္ ပုဂံမင္းအား ပုန္ကန္ၾကသည္။ ပုန္ကန္သည့္ အစီအစဥ္ ေအာင္ျမင္ကာ ကုန္းေဘာင္မင္းဆက္၏ ၁၀ ပါးေျမာက္ ဘုရင္ျဖစ္လာသည္။
