About Alice Kackley

Date and place of birth have also been (erroneously?) reported to be circa 1717 at Germanna, Fauquier County, Virginia. (Fort Germanna was an establishment separate and distinct from the community of Germanna.)

Her Spillman family ancestors were listed among the German settlers of the Germanna Colony along the Rapidan River in Virginia, founded in the early 1700s by Alexander Spotswood, Lieutenant Governor of Colonial Virginia. She and Jacob had several children: John (Ohio), Jacob (Jr.), Valentine (WV), Benjamin (d.1780), Elias (d.1818), Mary, and Elizabeth. Their homestead from the 1750's later became the old Shawneeland lodge. Alce's headstone is the oldest, original marker still standing in the cemetery. (Details derived from the published works of historians; Qualls, and Dr. Kerns).

father: John Spillman ( Nov. 6, 1675 - c. 1727 ) mother: Mary Elizabeth Gent Spillman ( Aug. 7, 1696 - c. 1760 )
