Her first child, Louis Henry Hepp, apparently was fathered by her older brother Jacob Hepp, according to Claire and Evelyn Hepp, Mauston, Wisconsin. who stated in a letter to Denny Thompson, in 1992 "the Marriage certificate just states "Jacob" so I'm taking it for granted it was her brother rather than her father." Or the child was conceived out of wedlock and the father or brother's name was used to give an air of legitimacy to the event.
