About Anna S Kindred

Mrs. Anna S. Kindred, the widow of Waldo C. Kindred, passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2022, at her home.
She was born in Montgomery County, Kentucky on August 25, 1924, the daughter of the late John & Margaret Alice Ragan Shafer. Mrs. Kindred was a retired regional manager for South Central Bell Telephone Company and following her retirement she worked at Whitehall State Shrine and Fort Boonesborough. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, a former member of the Richmond Housing Authority, a former regent of the Boonesborough chapter of the DAR, a former member of the Madison County Democratic Women’s Club, the Cancer Society, Altrusa, and was a former volunteer at the Pattie A. Clay Hospital now known as Baptist Health - Richmond. Mrs. Kindred was a member of the First Baptist Church in Richmond where she and her late husband Waldo were instrumental in helping organize the White Hall Baptist church. She also served for many years as a Sunday School teacher.
Survivors include: her daughters, Gail K. Wickersham (Allan), and Cheryl K. Powell; five grandchildren, David Wickersham (Andrea), Mark Wickersham, Kelly Stitzer, Jon Powell, and Rebecca McDaniel; eight great-grandchildren, Sophie Wickersham, Lily Wickersham, Elijah Wickersham, Garrett Wickersham, Jacob McDaniel, Juliette McDaniel, Jenna McDaniel, and Wesley Powell; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by: one brother; and five sisters.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Monday, October 31, 2022, at the First Baptist Church, 425 Eastern Bypass, with Rev. Bill Fort and Rev. John Ward officiating. Burial will follow in the Winchester Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 11:00 AM Monday, at the church.
Pallbearers will be: David Wickersham, Mark Wickersham, Jon Powell, Jacob McDaniel, Wesley Powell, John Young, Marshall McVey, and Glenn Sandlin.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Dorcas, Bethany and Gleaners Sunday School Classes of First Baptist Church in Richmond.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the charity of your choice can be made in memory of Mrs. Kindred.
The Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home, W. Main St., Richmond, is in charge of the arrangements.
