About Antonio Filippo "Anthony Philip" Bove

Gerard is the son of the late Philip Bove and Madeline (DeRose).

Born in Yonkers, N.Y., he lived in Glen Ridge for 19 years before moving to West Caldwell.

Mr. Bove was a production engineer for ITT Avionics Division in Clifton from November 1983 until his retirement in 1990.

From December 1973 to February 1977, he was director of operations at McGraw-Edison Co., Electronics Division, in West Orange.

From 1965 to 1969, he was vice president and general manager of Douglas Randall, a division of Walter Kidde Co. in Belleville.

After his retirement, he was a substitute teacher at West Essex High School, North Caldwell.

During World War II, he served in the Army in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration and industrial engineering from Columbia University, New York City, in 1949.

He is survived by his wife, Columbia “Dolly” Grasso; his daughters; Linda Bove of West Caldwell and Maria Menzel of Blairstown; his sons, Gerald A. Jr. of Hillsborough, Philip of Columbia, Md.; and Joseph A. of Lenexa, Kans.; his brother, Anthony Bove of Wichita, Kan.; his sister, Linda Ruth of New Orleans, La., and his grandchildren, Jennifer, Erica, Andrew, Sara, Henry, D. J., Alex and Jared.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday, Jan. 15 at St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church, Caldwell.

Entombment was at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover Township.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, N.J. Affiliate Memorials Chapter, 2550 Route 1, North Brunswick, N.J. 08902-4301.

Arrangements were by the Dancy Funeral Home in Caldwell.

Funeral from The DANCY FUNERAL HOME, 9 Smull Ave., Caldwell, on Saturday at 10 a.m. Thence to St. Aloysius RC Church, Caldwell, where at 11 a.m. a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered.

Friends may call Friday 4-9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, N.J. Affiliate Memorials Chapter, 2550 Route 1, North Brunswick, N.J. 08902-4301.

Entombment Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover.
