About Archibald Stark
Evidence needed to support Archibald Stark as son of John Stark & unknown Stark
ARCHIBALD STARK
The ancestry of Archibald Stark (1693-1758), here treated, has not been satisfactorily identified. According to Wikipedia, he was born in Glasgow, Scotland, to parents who were from Wiltshire in England. It would appear that nothing more is known about Archibald's ancestry. Wikipedia According to the late Howard Parker Moore: "It seems that the parents of Archibald may remain conjectural. The New Hampshire Starks transmit no information. Not even traditions speak of John Stark's grandfather and grandmother." A Life of General John Stark: 20 The absence of accurate information about Archibald Stark's ancestry is reflected in James R. Clark's discussion paper which was reproduced by the Stark Family Y-DNA Project
Death and Burial
Birth: 1693 Death: Jun. 25, 1758. The dates on the gravestone 1689-1750 conflict with the following source - [Jelke and Frazier, and Allied Families. By Louis Effingham DeForest. New York, 1931. Vol 167] Regarding his birth, pg 49: "When Archibald Stark died in 1758, his age was stated on his gravestone to be sixty-one, which would make his year of birth 1697, and that year is the one usually given. However, another record gives the names and years of birth of John Stark's nine children, and states that Archibald was born in 1693." Find A Grave Memorial
Biography
Genetic DNA information
" the genetic comparisons do suggest Richard and [his nephew] James were closer relatives to each other than either were to Archibald [James purported brother] "
" genetic comparisons further suggest that it is more likely the common ancestor could have lived 13 generations earlier and could have been William of Dullutur"

Moore, A Life of General John Stark:
It seems that the parents of Archibald may remain conjectural. The new Hampshire Starks transmit no information. Not even tradition speaks of Archibald's son, General John Stark's grandfather and grandmother.
There is no link to a brother, James Stark, or a father John Stark in New Hampshire.
First possible record: Glasgow University, 27 Feb 1702, third form, Archibaldus Stark
