Arthur Frank Engelmeyer

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday at Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Saint Rosa, for Art Engelmeyer, who died Monday at his home in Saint Rosa. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call after 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, and from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose. Parish prayers will be at 7 p.m., followed by Saint Rosa Lions and the Holy Name Society will be praying the rosary at 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Arthur Frank Engelmeyer was born June 19, 1934 in Saint Rosa to Christ and Bertha (Herzog) Engelmeyer. He served in the National Guard for six years. He married Marge Finken on February 11, 1961 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Freeport. He owned and operated Engelmeyer Bulk Milk from 1957-1997. He served on the Saint Rosa City Council starting in 1958 and continuing until present. He was elected mayor of Saint Rosa, and served for 37 years, until 1997. He served on the District 740 school board from 1988-1990. After his retirement in 1997, he drove school bus for Mayers Bus Service for three years, loving every minute of it. He was a member of the Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Treasurer of the Holy Name Society, Catholic Aid, past member of the Saint Rosa parish council, groundskeeper for the church and cemetery, the Saint Rosa cemetery committee, church usher, charter member of the Saint Rosa Lions and recipient of the Melvin Jones Award, associate member of the Saint Rosa Jaycees, sponsored various Saint Rosa sports teams for 30 years, and was a member of the Roving Hillbillies Snowmobile Club for 25 years.
