Audrey Jane Berrier

Audrey J. Berrier, 87, Former Payson resident and member of St. Phillips Catholic Church, was granted her Angel Wings on Sept 7, 2011 at her home in Mesa, AZ. Audrey was born June 21, 1924 in Minneapolis, MN to Frank and Emily Malecka. Audrey spent many years as a cook in the Phoenix School System before her full retirement in 1985. After retirement, Audrey and her late husband, Gene, settled in Payson in 1982. Audrey and Gene loved to travel in their motor home, crossing the US, including their trip to Alaska. After Gene's death in 1995, Audrey experienced some health issues and moved to Mesa, AZ in 2006. Audrey enjoyed all sorts of card games, especially Hand & Foot, as well as Pokeno and Tripoli. Audrey was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Gene, a daughter, Jeanette Anglin, and her brother, Richard Malecka. Audrey is survived by 3 children, Jim (Pon) of Payson, Jack (Ogi) of Phoenix, and Janie Jundt (Marcia Mickle - daughter of the heart) of Tempe, two sisters, Lorraine Havir, Phoenix and Marilyn (Jim) Lindlan, Phoenix, 4 grandchildren, Tim (Shelley) Jundt, Chandler, Jimmy (Dani) Berrier, Ft. Hood, TX, Shannon (Doug) Foster, Omaha, NE and Carrie Smith of Phoenix, and 10 precious great-grandchildren. She also adored her adopted family at Oasis Mesa Palms Retirement Center. Audrey never knew a stranger and will be missed by all who loved her. Visitation will be held at Meldrum Mortuary, 52 N. Macdonald, Mesa, AZ on Thursday, Sept 15th from 6-8, with a Rosary at 7 p.m. Funeral services with mass will be on Friday, Sept 16th at 11:30 a.m. at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 141 North MacDonald, Mesa, AZ. Internment of the cremains will be at Cave Creek National Cemetery; date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mary Knoll Sisters, P. O.
