BIOGRAPHY Auguste Louis was born 19 August 1794 in castle Etoy, son of Freiherr Cesar August von Senarclens-Grancy and Elisabeth Claudine Marie Rose de Loriol. He became chamberlain to Princess Wilhelmine von Baden wife of the future Ludwig II, Grand Duke of Hessen und bei Rhein.
As Wilhelmine had grown estranged from her husband, in 1820 she bought the estate Heiligenberg near Jugenheim. In the next five years Wilhelmine became pregnant four times by Auguste Louis, the first child died in childhood, the second was stillborn, the third was Alexander and the fourth Marie. Reluctantly Wilhelmine's husband acknowledged paternity of Alexander and Marie.
Wilhelmine died in Rosenhöhe 27 January 1836 and on 15 November 1836 Auguste Louis married Countess Luise von Otting und Fünfstetten and they had six children. Auguste Louis died 8 October 1871 in Jugenheim.
