About Bessie Jean Siriani
Siriani, Jean Register, formerly of Orange County, passed away August 7th at her home in Banning, following a lengthy illness. Jean, the beloved wife of Sam, epitomized the virtue of unselfish service to her fellow man. She demonstrated this trait in every facet of her life. The extent of her caring and the need to do something for someone often led to frustration and unhappiness, yet she never deviated and was ready, day or night to respond to a cry for help. There was no need to verbalize her feelings; they were apparent and appreciated by people in all walks of life. Her friendship was offered, no strings attached. Her money, when available was loaned or given selflessly. Her service to the community is a matter of record as is the history of her years as a public servant: School Secretary, Deputy Sheriff, Policewoman, Municipal employee, Stanton City Clerk, Stanton Councilwoman and Mayor. Professional organizations, civic clubs, private projects and personal involvement with individuals all felt her presence and appreciated her genuine concern for others. For one whose life was dedicated to service it is not surprising that her final wish was the ultimate gift to her fellow human being… Jean donated her body for scientific research to the Department of Anatomy, School of Medicine, Loma Linda University. Jean is survived by her husband, Sam Siriani; son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Laura Siriani; granddaughters, Susan Flaherty and Katherine Siriani; great-grandchildren Parker, Patrick and Henry Flaherty. Those wishing to honor Jean's memory and years of public service are asked to make a donation to the Boys and Girls Club of Stanton, which she helped found.
