About Bob Hawke, 23rd Prime Minister of Australia
Robert Hawke (Bob) was born to Clem and Ellie (Lee) Hawke on 9 December 1929.
He was the younger son, his brother Neil having died at age 18, in 1939, when the family moved from Perth, West Australia.
Bob was 8 years in office as Australia's Prime Minister, from1980. He was ACTU President from 1969-1980, and the Labour minister for Wills from 1980.
