Death of Mrs. Bridget Adams Passed Away Last Night After Forty Years Residence In Hancock
Mrs. Bridget Adams, widow of the late John Adams, died at her home on West Hancock Street last evening at about 10:45 o'clock after an illness extending over a period of nearly three years. Mrs. Adams was one of the early residents of Hancock and had a large acquaintance among the people of the county, by whom her loss will be sincerely mourned, and who extends their sympathy to the family in the bereavement. Mrs. Adams was born in Dublin, Ireland in 1835 and came to America about 45 years ago, residing during the first five years of that period at Detroit and Ontonagon, and for the past forty years she has made her home in Hancock and Houghton. Her husband, John Adams died about twenty-three years ago and the following children survive; James and John; Misses Celia, Agnes, and Catherine of Hancock, and Mrs. M. J. Murphy of Lake Nebagamon, Wis. Besides these relatives, Mrs. Adams leaves eight sisters and one brother, who are residents of Houghton County.
The funeral will be held at 2:30 o'clock on Sunday afternoon, with services at St. Patrick?s church, and interment in Forest Hill cemetery, Houghton.
