About Bural “Burl” Thacker
Bural F. Thacker, 74, of Mount Vernon Road, Berea, died Tuesday morning, October 25, 2005, in Berea Hospital. He was born on April 19, 1931, in Rockcastle County, Kentucky, the son of the late Charlie and Pearl Day Thacker. A U.S. Army Veteran, Bural was a retired truck driver for Robinson-Turley, and attended the Lancaster Road Church of God. He is survived by: his wife, Wanda Faye Combs Thacker; on daughter; Rachel Kaye Culton Johnnie) of Richmond; two brothers, Russell Thacker (Catherine) and Elvin Thacker (Teresa), both of Richmond; four sisters, Barbara Thacker; Melissa Isaacs and Zelma Sue Rhodus, all of Richmond, and Roberta Lainhart (Levi) of Berea; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Thacker. Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, October 28, 2005, at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home, West Main Street, Richmond, with the Rev. Levi Lainhart officiating. Burial followed in the Madison County Memorial Gardens. Visitation was from 5 until 9 p.m. Thursday at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Greg Thacker, Glynn Baker, Mark Baker, Eddie Thacker, Donnie Thacker and Gary Smith. Honorary pallbearers were Dakota Thacker, Herschel Foster, Jimmy Combs, Bill Combs, Michael Foster and Russell Moorefield
