About Chimene "Chemmy" Mary Alcott
http://www.teamgb.com/athletes/chemmy-alcott
Chemmy Alcott has competed in three consecutive Olympic Games, in Salt Lake City, Turin and then Vancouver - at both Turin and Vancouver she finished an impressive 11th place in Downhill and Super Combined respectively.
Despite a horrific accident in Lake Louise in 2010, Alcott embarked on a remarkable road to recovery (which included competing in ITV’s Dancing on Ice) and returned to skiing on the World Cup tour in the 2012/13 season and has now set her sights on her fourth Olympic Games in Sochi.
She is currently ranked in the top 30 in the world for Super G, Giant Slalom and Combined and is an ambassador for British sport, encouraging younger athletes to pursue their dreams.
Alcott started to ski when she was just 18 months old and took part in her first fun race when she was three.
Voted the Sunday Times Junior Sportswoman of the year in 1995 she made the British ski team at age 16
