Clara Morrison, the mother of the late Doors singer Jim Morrison, died at her home in Coronado, near San Diego in California on December 29. She was 86.

Mrs. Morrison was an active part of suing Doors members Ray Manzerek and Robbie Krieger when they toured as The Doors in recent years. The results went in the Morrison's favor and the former Doors members were forced to tour under the name The Doors of the 21st Century.

Her son Jim was born in Melbourne, Florida in 1943, and died of heart failure in a hotel room in Paris in 1971 at the age of 27.

Clara married Steve Morrison, a Navy ensign, in 1943 in Honolulu. They were married for 63 years. She was also mother to daughter Anne and son Andy. She had five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
