"It is with great regret and sadness that we announce the death of the legendary jazz singer, the great Nina Simone, who died this morning at her home," her manager Clifton Henderson said.

"Nina Simone has not been feeling very well for quite a while," he added, without giving further details.

Mr Henderson, who was at Simone's bedside at her death, said she died of "natural causes" in her sleep. [1]
