Coleen Shylia Parry

Colleen Davis Parry, 88, of Henderson, passed away May 27, 2013, after a short illness. She was born Aug. 281, 924, to the late Ernest and Zenda Davis Hicks, in Orangeville, Utah. Colleen resided in Utah until marrying Grant E. Parry in 1961 and relocating to Las Vegas. Colleen was an executive secretary in the oil industry in Utah for 16 years. She was a secretary and office manager in ladies' retail in Las Vegas for 28 years. She was very passionate about her career and enjoyed telling stories about that part of her life. She was an active member of the Red Hat Society. She loved watching sports on television, especially golf. She was always full of energy and enjoyed working in her yard. She was eager to help anyone in need doing so with a smile on her face. Always a great hostess, Colleen loved opening her home to visiting friends and family. Colleen was preceded in death by her husband, Grant; sister, Marva Thomas; and brother, Vaughn Davis. She is survived by her son, Brad E. Parry; and her grandson, Brandon E. Parry of Henderson, whom she described as the "lights of her life." She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Creva Davis of Ogden, Utah; stepsisters, Gladys Neilson of Ogden, and Jean (Floyd) Johnson of Salt Lake City; nieces, Larraine (Ron) Goble of St. George, Carolyn (Rick) Gibson, Marilyn (Blaine) Thornock of Ogden, and Suzanne (Bill) Kirby of Lindon, Utah. Colleen's quick wit and cheerful nature will be missed by all who were blessed to know her. Visitation will be 10 a.m. Saturday, June 15, with services following at 11 a.m., both at Davis Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave.
