- ' Lady Elizabeth Cecil was born in 1619.2 She was the daughter of William Cecil, 2nd Earl of Salisbury and Lady Catherine Howard.1,3 She married William Cavendish, 3rd Earl of Devonshire, son of William Cavendish, 2nd Earl of Devonshire and Hon. Christian Bruce, circa 4 March 1638/39.1 She died on 19 November 1689.1
- ' From circa 4 April 1639, her married name became Cavendish. As a result of her marriage, Lady Elizabeth Cecil was styled as Countess of Devonshire circa 4 April 1639.

'He married Lady Elizabeth Cecil, daughter of William Cecil, 2nd Earl of Salisbury, on 4 March 1639. They had two children:
- William Cavendish, 1st Duke of Devonshire (1641–1707)
- Lady Anne Cavendish (c. 1660–?), married John Cecil, 5th Earl of Exeter and had issue.
