About Dale Robert Van Ginkel
Dale Robert Van Ginkel, 73, of Niagara, Wis., passed away Sunday, January 4, 2009, at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital, Iron Mountain. He was born October 24, 1935, in Niagara Township, son of the late Roland and Leona (Chapman) Van Ginkel. Dale married the former Mary Ann La Gest on June 29, 1957, at Mission Chapel, Niagara Township. Dale served in the National Guard for a few years before returning to Niagara where he worked for Kimberly Clark for a short time. He then went to work for his uncle, Gene Chapman, as a carpenter. Dale most recently worked for Gunville Trucking as a truck driver. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and woodworking. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann; three sons, Charles (Julie) Van Ginkel, Spread Eagle, Wis., Kevin D. (Tina) Van Ginkel, Timothy (Missy) Van Ginkel both of Niagara; one brother, Earl (Linda) Van Ginkel, Colorado; four sisters, Lois (Tom) Calkins, Kingsford, Phyllis (Donald) Trieber, Norway, Marion (Spencer) McCormick, Niagara, Jeanette (Gaile) Steckel, Colorado; seven grandchildren, Kevin R. (Crystal Whiting) Van Ginkel, Becky (Derrick Seidel) Van Ginkel, Bradley, Bailey, Desie, Eric, Cody Van Ginkel; one great-grandchild, D.J. Seidel; one brother-in-law, Milton (Evie) La Gest; four uncles, David, Michael, Eugene, Fred Chapman; a very special aunt, Wilma Dabb; two special friends, Brownie, his dog, Victor, his cat; many nieces and nephews. Dale was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Rhonda Rae, and one sister, Doreen Phillips. Pastor Tim Smith will officiate.
