Service for Daniel Hummel St. Planned

Services for retired Clearfield businessman Daniel W. Hummel Sr., 90, of 601 Nichols St., Clearfield, who died at 8:15 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 9, at Clearfield Hospital, will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home Inc., Clearfield.

The Rev. Robert K. Garraou will officiate, and interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.

Friends will be received at the funeral home Sunday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Monday until the time of the service.

Born Dec. 14, 1896, in Hungtingdon, Mr. Hummel was the son of the Rev. Benjamin J. Hummel and Sarah (Yingst) Hummel.

Mr. Hummel founded D. W. Hummel and Sons. Inc. in Clearfield and operated it until his retirement. He was a member and elder emeritus of the Fundamental Bible Church of Clearfield.

He is survived by his wife, Helen (Wilson) Hummel; three children, Mrs. Elaine Beekman of Dallas, Texas, Benjamin of Clearfield R.D., and Daniel W. Jr. of Clearfield; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.
