About Deborah Jean Herzog
Deborah Jean "Debbie" Herzog, 75, passed away on Friday, December 20, 2024, in Gainesville, Virginia.
Debbie was born on October 30, 1949, in Akron, Ohio, to William Eugene Wilhelm and Edith Marr Carter. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Robert "Bob" Peel, William "Joe" Peel, and David Peel.
She is survived by her husband, Howard Herzog; her son, Brian Herzog; daughter-in-law, Juliet (Swanson) Herzog; her brother, David Wilhelm; many grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and two godchildren she cherished as her own grandchildren, Jonathan Leake and Kenneth "Buddy" Olson.
Debbie had a passion for genealogy and spent countless hours working on her family tree and assisting others with theirs. She also enjoyed knitting and crocheting. A lifetime member of the LDS Church, Debbie found joy in her faith and community. Professionally, she worked for many years as a paralegal alongside her husband, Attorney Howard Herzog.
A graveside service will take place at Augusta Memorial Park in Waynesboro, Virginia, on Thursday, December 26, 2024, at 2:00 PM.
