Delmar Elden Bickel

BICKEL Delmar Elden "Pete" Bickel, age 85, died suddenly Friday, May 22, 2009 at his home in Massillon. He was born in Massillon on April 24, 1924 to the late Perry E. and Maude (Bosley) Bickel. Delmar served his country in WWII in the US Army. He retired as Superintendent of Oster Sand and Gravel. Delmar was also preceded in death by his first wife Donna Mae (Rink) Bickel in 1964, and his brother Myron Blair Bickel, who died serving his country in WWII. He will be sadly missed by his wife, Mary (Null) Simon Bickel; his 4 children, Blair (Carole) Bickel of Columbus, Oh., Bruce (Janet) Bickel, Randy (Charlene) Bickel, and Cathy (Chris) Evans all of Massillon; 3 step-children, Delores (Harold) Rink, and Bill (Mary Jayne) Simon of Massillon, and Herman (Pat) Simon of N.C.; 19 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. Pete had an outgoing personality and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 27, 2009 11 a.m. at ATKINSON FEUCHT HARE FUNERAL HOME in Massillon with Pastor Larry Lalama officiating. Visitation is Tuesday, May 26, 2009 6-9 p.m. and one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Newman Creek Chapel Cemetery.
