Biography
Samuel Barber was born in Connecticut.
Samuel, the third son and seventh of eight children of Thomas BarberII and Mary Phelps was born on 17 May 1673 at Simsbury, Connecticut Colony.
Samuel married Sarah Holcombe, the daughter of Nathaniel and Mary (Bliss) Holcombe on 17 December 1712 at Simsbury, Connecticut Colony by Rev. Mr. Timothy Woodbridge Clerke.[1][2] They had seven children born at Simsbury:

Bequests were made to wife, Sarah, sons Samuel, Thomas and Jonathan, daughters Sarah and Mary, and brother Benjamin.[7]
