GEDCOM Note
"Frances (Frank) was a student at William and Mary College. He then studied medicine, intending to complete his education in Edinburgh, Scotland, but the war between England and France prevented this. He removed to the "Goosepond" Broad River section of what is now Oglethorpe Co. in 1784, where he was greatly esteemed. The home site near Peter Point, Georgia is still pointed out. About a mile from where the large house stood may yet be seen the gravestones of Francis and his wife, Martha, and two other Meriwethers." - The History of Ogletrhorpe Co., Georgia by Mrs. Florrie Carter Smith published in 1970.
