TJOMSAAS _ Edgar. On March 25, 2005, Edgar Gustav Tjomsaas of Brackendale, at the age of 78. Born September 23, 1926 in Kristiansand, Norway, the third of six siblings. Survived by his beloved wife Eleanor, his sons Reidar (Val) of North Delta and Rolf (Judy) of Kamloops, daughter Karen (Steven Schnider) of South Surrey, a legacy of eight fine grandchildren (William, Karen, Kayle, Michael, Jan Edgar, Andrew, Neal, and Shane) two sisters and an extended family in Norway. Edgar was independent, an adventurer, and an entrepreneur. He moved to Vancouver in 1949 to pursue his career as a journeyman mechanic and met Eleanor shortly afterwards. They married on December 1st, 1951. In 1965 he moved his young family back to Norway to experience the culture and expand their horizons. Returning to Vancouver in 1970 he set up another automobile repair business and, following his retirement in 1989 moved to Brackendale and built his own retirement home. ld often be found boating, snowmobiling, hunting and fishing in the back country. He will be lovingly remembered by his friends and extended family who all enjoyed many adventures and good times with Edgar. He passed very quickly after a brief illness. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, April 23rd from 2 - 5 PM at the Squamish Yacht Club. In lieu of flowers, donations to the BC Cancer Society would be appreciated.
