About Elizabeth Dunlop, primus
ELIZABETH DUNLOP primus
Elizabeth Dunlop, primus, here treated, is the daughter of James Dunlop of Garnkirk, and his wife, Elizabeth Roberton. [Newsletter of the Glasgow and West of Scotland Family History Society, No. 47 Autumn 1996, p. 12] She was born before 7 January 1664, the date upon which her baptism was registered at Cadder parish in Lanarkshire, Scotland. Her mother's name is not mentioned in her baptismal record but there seems hardly any doubt that she is a daughter Elizabeth Roberton. Her baptismal record reads as follows: "Elizabeth laull daughter to James Dunlop of Garnkirk Witness: Mr Archibald Robertoune of Bedlay and Mr Gabriwl Cunninghame" [Registrar General for Scotland, New Register House, Edinburgh, Cadder Baptisms, 1662-1744, reference OPR.626/1]

[National Records of Scotland, Glasgow Baptisms, 1670-88, reference OPR.644/1/6]
