"Mrs. Flo Gross Dies in Dallas
Services for Mrs. Flo Gross, 92, a longtime Tyler resident, are pending with Lloyd James Funeral Home. Mrs. Gross died early today in Dallas. She was born Jan. 1, 1896, in Philadelphia and was a resident of Tyler since 1925. She was the widow of Max H. Gross, who owned Maxine's Ladies Shop in downtown Tyler.
Mrs. Gross was a disc jockey in Tyler when radio station KGKB started. She conducted a program called "Aunt Flo's Advice to the Lovelorn." She was a member of Temple Beth El, past president of Tyler Council of Church Women, Sisterhood of Temple Beth El, the Hadassah and the Pilot Club. She also was a director and founding member of Tyler Day Nursery.
Survivors include her daughter, Doris Kivel, Tyler; grandchildren Marc Kivel, Dallas, David Kivel, London, and Beth Kivel, Oakland, Calif.; a nephew, Michael Gross, Tyler; and a great-niece, Janie McGoff, Tyler.
