On 31 August 1882, Florence married Frederick Mellersh (a boy next door);

Later they moved to St Albans, Hertfordshire, initially "Sherley," Clarence Road;

Soon after the start of the First World War in 1914, Frederick, Florence and their household accepted a Belgian refugee and her baby into their house ("Bridlemere") in St. Albans: Madame Maria Louwage and her infant daughter Vivienne (b 1912). [Husband & father Monsieur Florent Louwage, a senior police officer, much later after WW2 became head of Interpol.]
