About Frank D Bowman

OBITUARY Iron County Reporter March 12 2003 "Obituaries: Frank Bowman"
IRON RIVER-Frank D. Bowman, 67, entered into eternal life March 5 peacefully with his family by his side.
He was born Dec. 24, 1935 in Crandon, Wis., the son of the late Hatcher and Dessie (Roberts) Bowman. He was a life long resident of the area and attended the Elvoy School in Nelma, Wis. On March 17, 1956 he married the former Diane Marie Zyskowski and the couple made their home in Iron River. In his early years, he worked in the woods and drove truck for a logging company. He later was employed by the M.A. Hanna Mining Company working at the Homer, Wauseca, Cannon and Groveland mines. He worked at Meyer Packing in Iron River until a work accident disabled him. He was a member of the St. Agnes Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, 4th Degree, and past chairman of the Iron County Right to Life in the 1980s and early 1990s. He was an avid fisherman and hunter; he loved the outdoors, and most of all he cherished being with his 13 grandchildren and family. He was preceded in death by a son John Patrick in 1964; a grandson Chad Hooper; two brothers, Donald and Carl; three sisters, Lillian Richards, Mary Sturkenburg and Wanda Bowman.
He is survived by his wife; a son Frank (Brenda) of Gaastra; four daughters, Dawn (Anthony) Toonen of Green Bay, Wis., Kelly Schmidt of Iron River, Laura (Jonathon) Jenkins of Green Bay and Mary (Kurt) Nordbeck of Iron Mountain; four brothers, Charles of Nelma, Glen of Belgin, Wis., James "Rodney" of Nelma and Robert of California; three sisters, Pearl Ritchie of Long Lake, Wis., Donna Hoepponer of Long Lake and Rosetta Shelton of Long Lake; 13 grandchildren, Keith and Craig Hooper, Joseph and Erin Toonen, Michael, David and Emily Jenkins, Bradley, Jereck and Alex Bowman and Jonathon, Andrew and Markita Nordbeck; and numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
