Gale R Buxengard

was born May 16, 1921, in Caledonia to Oscar and Grace (Pope) Buxengard.

He graduated from Caledonia High School in 1939. Gale served in the U.S. Army in the European Theater during World War II from 1942 to 1946. When he returned to Caledonia, he worked at the Caledonia Post Office and eventually became Postmaster in Caledonia until his retirement in 1980.
Gale married Helen Burns on Aug. 21, 1958, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Caledonia. He was a 50-year member of Loveless-Eikens American Legion Post 191 and Houston County VFW Post 3833, and a member of the United Methodist Church, Caledonia. He enjoyed photography, astronomy, stamp collecting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers-in-laws, Bob and Bill Burns.
