About George William Hamilton
George "Spike" Hamilton (1901-1957) was a popular bandleader[1] who led a band based at the Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles.[2] Among the musicians in the band included Ray Robbins, Spike Jones and Leighton Noble. In the 1930s, he appeared in the movie Gift of Gab. He also appeared in a 1937 short film entitled Sunday Night at the Trocadéro. Hamilton also developed a perfume called "White Shoulders".
He is often mistaken for "Spike Jones", Due to his name and George's nick 'Spike'.
His first wife was Ann Stevens, formerly Mrs. William Potter, with whom he had two sons, David Hamilton and actor George Hamilton.[3] His second wife was June Howard.
