Glen Edward Welch

Glen Edward Welch, 68, of Jacksonville passed Sunday, Dec. 6, 2020, at his residence. He was born, Feb. 12, 1952, in Jacksonville, the son of Paul E. and Melba J. Vortman Welch.

Surviving is his mother, Melba of Jacksonville; son, Michael (companion, Ida Burton) Welch of Jacksonville; 6 grandchildren, Deadia, Daiziana, Doneille, DarKena, Dezire and Dahlia; and uncle, Leroy “Hap” (Norma) Vortman of Bluffs. Glenn was preceded in death by his father and sister, Paula J. Welch.

Glenn was employed as a highway construction operator before his retirement. He enjoyed watching football and the Cardinals on TV.

Cremation rites will be accorded. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials are suggested to the family to help with final need costs. The Daws Family Funeral Home in South Jacksonville is overseeing the arrangements.
