About Grace Hammond (Aldrich)
She was 17 when she was married. She had two children and went into diabetes. She loved to dance and her husband and she won many dancing contests in the 30's. She loved her daughter (her son died at a day old) and taught her all the loving things a mother should. She missed having her mother and wanted to be the best for her daughter. She also like to paint in oils and painted many pictures for her family. People were not her forte. Joan Lee also did some painting with her, but that wasn't her medium. She was more into sewing, crocheting and leather work. She loved cats and often had several at a time, all clean and well taken care of.
My mother also wrote poems, many of which my son is having published in a book. Her heart was in all she did. She was gentle and stood firm for right principles.
