Son of Italian olive grower Rosario Forestiere, Guiseppe Forestiere was the younger brother of Baldassare Forestiere.

Other siblings are older brother Antonio who also came to America, and Vincenzo.

His son Ric and Ric's wife Lorraine would eventually take the reins of keeping the Underground Gardens up, and in turn, passed it on to the next generation of Forestiere descendants.
