About Imad-ul-Mulk Syed Hussain Bilgrami
Here is a reference to Syed H Bilgrami in a British Library blog, protesting the callous India Office attitude to Indian ayahs who had been abandoned by their British employers. There is a photograph of a letter written by him too.

Naheed, thanks for sharing this!

It was the subject of a programme on Sky Arts called Treasures of the British Library, presented by Meera Syal recently.
Anvar found this old book with two lovely pieces on Imad-ul-Mulk (the first by Edith Adela Boardman Bilgrami).
To read them, type "Bilgrami" in the search box, click "go", then click on page n396, then on the right margin to "turn" the pages.
