Jacob's WW II Draft Registration says he was from Rezista, no doubt as pronounced by him; the entry is written by a clerk. Rzeżyca (Polish) and רעזשיצע in Yiddish, it is NW of Vitebsk/Vitepsk Belafus, now it is Rezhitsa or Rezekne, Latvia. In German sources, has been known as Rositten.
