One such assumption is that James had a brother Philip - this is not correct - the Philip Forsyth in Jamaica was the grandson of Ambrose S Carter of Barking Lodge.

1862 - Will

... Edinburgh Morningside, Midlothian, Scotland; His will indicates that James had property in Edinburgh and estates in Dunach in Lorn, in Sorn in Quintish & Tega, but now called Glengorm, all left to his son, the father of Dr Noel Forsyth.
