<p>Notes provided by Darryl Ramsay, Margaret's husband: "Grandfather of Louis on father’s side: Jean Claude Chanuborn approx. 1895 and died approx. 1955 (at age 6o).</p><p class="ox-073f3f6809-MsoNormal" style="box-sizing: content-box; margin: 0cm 0cm 0.0001pt; line-height: 1.4em; font-family: Calibri,sans-serif; font-size: 11pt; color: #555555;"> </p><div style="box-sizing: content-box; line-height: 1.4em; color: #555555; font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; border-top: none; border-right: none; border-left: none; border-image: initial; border-bottom: 2.25pt double windowtext; padding: 0cm 0cm 1pt;"><p class="ox-073f3f6809-MsoNormal" style="box-sizing: content-box; margin: 12pt 0cm 0.0001pt; line-height: 1.4em; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif; font-size: 11pt;">He was born in France of French parents, lived for many years in Belgium wherehe met his wife Dora Kurrels (of Belgium parentage) and they moved to Rio, Brazil where he earned his livelihood by cutting diamonds and dealing in diamonds.  He and his wife lived a very “gypsy” style life and as a result, never owned a home.  They had a son Jean Claude Chanu who left Brazil for South Africa when he was about 21 years old.  Louis’ grandfather died in Johannesburg and Claude and his mother remained there for many years.  Dora Chanu (nee Kurrels) remarried many years later and spent the last years of her life in Durban with her husband.  She died in approximately 1977/78."</p></div>
