Sailed from Liverpool, England on April 28, 1864 on the Monarch of the Sea (Capt. John Smith) with 974 passengers. Landed at New York about June 10, 1864. He drove ox-teams fro a man by the name of Soren Christofferson to pay his passage across the plains. Arrived in UT by way of Provo Canyon, October 12, 1864.

Jens emigrated from Denmark as Jens C. Larsen. His name was changed to Breinholt by act of the Utah legislature on March 3, 1882.
