Jessie Ann Alger

Jessie Ann (Knight) Alger, 86, of Elkton, passed away Saturday, November 24, 2018, with her family by her side. She was born September 23, 1932 in Harrisonburg Va. and was the daughter of the late Reuben A. and Victoria Donovan Knight.

On November 24, 1950, she married Lynwood Curtis Alger, who passed away on May 2, 2013.

Jessie was a dedicated member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses for over 55 years. A great deal of her life was spent camping and boating on the Chesapeake Bay with her husband and family. She enjoyed going to the beach, shopping and going out to eat with her family and friends. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and beloved friend to many. She will be truly missed by all that knew her.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Virgil "Loring" Knight, James Knight, Buck Knight, Katherine Hinegardner and Josephine Taylor.

She is survived by her four daughters, Patricia A. Mock and husband, Jim, Kathy S. Shifflett and husband, Ronald, Debby L. Eppard (wife of the late Terry Eppard) and Karla R. Turner; grandchildren, Scotty Shifflett, Johnny Shifflett and companion Rhonda, Michael Shifflett and wife, Julia and Brandy Comer and husband, Greg; nine great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at Kyger Funeral Home in Elkton with Minister Terry Edwards officiating.
