Jessie Lou Watson (March 26, 1920 - March 23, 2010)

Jessie Lou Mathis Watson, 89, of Russellville, formerly of Plainview, died Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at Stella Manor Nursing Center in Russellville. The daughter of Prescott and Louisa Eden Mathis, she was born March 26, 1920 in Ola. She married Thomas H. Watson on November 16, 1938 at Ola. Jessie worked as the cafeteria manager with the Plainview-Rover School District for many years. She was a long time member of the Plainview VFW Auxiliary and the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a Pink Lady volunteer at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center and was a member of the Salem United Methodist Church and later the Plainview United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and an Infant son, Tommie Joe Watson. She is survived by two sons, Jim Watson & wife Bonnie, Bella Vista; John Watson & wife Trudy, Russellville; two daughters, Betty Pugh & husband Bill, Paris; Mary Hildebrand & Kenneth Thomas, St. Louis, MO; ten grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren a brother, Jim Kin Mathis, Stanardsville, VA.

Funeral will be at 2:00PM, Saturday, March 27, 2010 at Plainview United Methodist Church. Burial will be at Salem Cemetery at Plainview by Humphrey Funeral Service. Visitation will be from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm, on Friday, at the funeral home. The family will also receive friends from 1:00 pm until service time Saturday at the church in Plainview. Memorials may be made to the St. Mary's Hospital Auxiliary Scholarship Fund, 1808 West Main Street, Russellville, AR 72801.
