John Stricklen Jay

John S. Jay, 59, of Pecos, passed away on Wednesday 3192014 of natural causes. Visitation will be Thursday March 20, 2014, until 5pm and Friday March 21, 2014 from 9 AM until 4 PM at the Pecos Funeral Home chapel. A memorial service will be held on Friday March 21, 2014 at 5:00 PM at the Pecos Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Ron Garcia officiating. John was born in Lexington, Kentucky to Fred and Martha Jay on October 7, 1954. He married Elia A. Contreras on June 26, 2004 in Pecos. He graduated from Seneca High School in Louisville, Kentucky class of 1972 and he studied business law at the University of Eastern Kentucky. He was the owner and operator of John Jay Investigations and Collections, and most recently, was a Special Education Aide teacher at Pecos High School. John loved the Lord and often preached the gospel at Calvary Church in Pecos. He never met a stranger and was involved in different coffee clubs in Pecos where he deeply loved to engage in a conversation or two. John is preceded in death by both parents and a sister Lana Elizabeth Ramsey. John I survived by his wife, Elia A. Jay, of Pecos, stepdaughter, Sylvia A. Contreras, of Pecos, stepson, Javier A. Contreras and wife Veronica of Odessa, Stepson Jacob A. Contreras of Pecos and several grandchildren he dearly loved, Bianca J Lujan, Briana Lujan, and Amber S. Contreras all of Pecos, and Javin P. Contreras and Jase M. Contreras of Odessa.
