Daniel accompanied his parents to America. He's on tax lists first in 1782 and by 1786 he had not yet been married. In 1870, he had 60 acres of land - in 1793 he had 100 acres - in 1796 there were 100 acres of land "in trust" adjoining land of Valentine Somerlady, another hundred acres with a log house and barn, plus two horses and two cows. Daniel also had 62 acre tract and another 50 acres. In 1802, he is listed with 160 acres, a two story house, a good barn, two horses and two cows. In 1808 the records state that he had 250 acres with house and barn located on the Mahantongo Creek. In 1811, he added a sawmill and was at the same location. In April 1814, Daniel and Magdalena sold 250 acres to Henry Wirth. By 1816 Daniel disappeared from the tax record. It appears he and his family migrated to Bulter County, Ohio with his sister, Hannah, her husband John Michael Singer and their children. Daniel and Magdalena were in Hanover Township, Butler County, Ohio until at least 1830. Daniel died in Butler County in 1835 and his remains later moved to Franklin County, Indiana.
