Jonathon Thorne, 79, of Bridgeport, Conn. and Delray Beach, died after a long illness on March 31, 1987. Prior to coming to Delray Beach, Mr. Thorne was a farmer in Peddlar Mills, VA, and in Chester County, PA. Known as “Jock” to his friends, he was a top amateur golfer, an avid fisherman and enthusiastic orchidist. He was a member of Sons of the American Revolution, and the First Presbyterian Church of Delray Beach.

He is survived by his wife, Mildred Thorne; daughter Barbara Durk; son David Thorne; and Jonathon Brinck Thorne; a brother Stuart Thorne, and two granddaughters.
