Biography

He was born about 1663 in Portsmouth, Newport County, Rhode Island and his parents were Mary (Borden) and John Cooke (1630-1691).

Joseph Cooke married on 19 Apr 1692 in Portsmouth, Newport County, Rhode Island to Susanna Briggs.

He died on 21 Mar 1746 in Portsmouth, Newport County, Rhode Island.

Slaves

Joesph owned three slaves. They came by way of his father's Will.[1]

Jack - John Cookes Negro man who is of service for time of his Life.
Maria - Native Indian woman to be his servant for ten years and then to be freed
Goan Francisco - Native Indian boy to serve with him until he be twenty-four years old, at which time Joseph was to put him in good apparel and give him corn and a horse
