Joseph Emmet Shea died at his home in Milaca on Monday, Sept. 30, 2002. He was born on August 16, 1920 to Ellsworth and Amelia (Zambon) Shea in Hibbing, MN. He attended school in Hibbing and entered the United States Army, serving during World War II from 1941 to 1946. He was united in marriage to Margaret Egeland on March 13, 1944. They lived in Hibbing until 1963 when they moved to Princeton. He worked at the Anoka State Hospital until his retirement in 1981 when they moved to Coeur D'Alene, Idaho. They lived there until 1992 when the moved to Milaca. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret; sons: Patrick (Rosanne), Michael (Jody), Chris (Camille) all of Princeton, Tony of Milaca, Tom (Dee) of Blanchard, WA; daughters: Peggy Sanborn of Hayden, ID, Colleen (Yance) Bradley of Othello, WA, Tammy (Terry) Uhrich of Atlanta, GA; Sally (Mark) Schulke of Duluth, MN; Monica (Mike) Clark, Kerry (Kevin) Homstad, Laurie Maleska and Kelly (fiancee John Schnieder) Shea, all of Princeton; 41 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; brother, Pat Shea of Dallas, TX; sister, Jean Dougherty of Duluth, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by infant sister, Alice Shea; son, Kevin Shea in 1988; and grandson, Donald Sanborn in 1964.
